We are excited to spotlight Derek Baldwin, a Senior Superintendent based out of our Houston, TX office. He has over 20 years of experience and has been with CBG for 6 years. Derek is aware of all aspects on his jobs. He spends time with subcontract trades going over their scope of work and how they are going to perform the task prior to the work beginning. This involves discussing multiple facets of the project from open trenches to working in boom lifts and other equipment. He holds safety as a top priority and keeps all teams on-site aware of what the others are doing so that people understand the dangers around them. In addition, he holds safety orientation for each worker, CBG and subcontractors, prior to them being able to start work. Derek is an invaluable asset to CBG and we are proud to have him represent us on our construction sites.
We are grateful for the opportunity to host a school supply drive for Family Promise of Montgomery County. Good luck to all those families and kiddos starting back to school. We wish you a great school year!
Cheers to another recently completed project! Check out these awesome photos of the Missouri City Fire Station No. 6 & Fire Administration Building. It was a pleasure working with The City of Missouri City, Texas - City Government and Martinez Architects. This 17,000 SF two-story facility houses administrative services for Missouri City’s fire stations and a new fully functional fire station. The building has three apparatus bays, dorms, exercise space, and a full administration suite.
Did you know nearly 3 out of 4 heat illness fatalities happen during the first week of work?
While dangerous heat exposure can be most common during the hot summer months, it can occur indoors or outdoors in any season. We can help keep our workers safe by following these simple safety practices outlined by OSHA.
Another successful concrete pour in the books! The New Fire Station No. 2 & Training Field Upgrades project for the City of Friendswood, TX will feature office space, dorm rooms, a day room, gear storage, and a kitchen. We will never tire of a beautiful sunrise concrete pour! Check out some of the progress happening on our project in Cleburne, TX. We just wrapped up pouring the product containment slab on grade and are working to finish the product truck loading slab. This project entails a large product detention basin, salt storage structure, conveyor system for offloading products from rail and loading to trucks, and several structures used for product storage. Also included is a warehouse building with offices and associated site improvements. Keep up the good work out there, team!
Flashback to this beautiful EMS facility in Austin County. This new 8,000 square foot facility was completed back in February and features four apparatus bays, five dorms, meeting room, day room, kitchen, and dining areas. On-site detention was required along with domestic and sanitary utilities. The parking lot paving was tied-in with the state highway and required TX-DOT permitting and approval. Check out the video for some of the final and progress footage of this project.
