ExxonMobil Baytown CAB Chilled Water System Upgrade

This project included an upgrade to the chilled water system at the Central Utility Plant (CUP) of the Chemical Administration Building (CAB) at ExxonMobil’s Baytown Refinery. The scope of the upgrades included the replacement of a single-cell cooling tower and double-cell cooling tower, replacement of two (2) 225-ton chillers, replacement of ten (10) pumps, replacement of chilled water piping, and related electrical and controls upgrades. The work also included the infill of the existing cooling tower basins with geofoam and concrete topping slabs, as well as the cast-in-place concrete plinths and structural steel support beams for the new cooling towers which feature integral basins.
